Giving Back

Empowering Women

We believe in giving back and are honoured to be in a place to do that.

Since the organizers of Scattered Seeds are women, the primary attendees of Scattered Seeds are women, and the majority of our makers are women, it would make sense that we would give back to initiatives that also support women in our community and beyond.

A percentage of each ticket sale goes towards Empowering Women, an initiative dedicated to supporting women both locally and abroad. Learn about some of the ways the funds were used in 2022 below!

Locally:

RIVERWOOD HOUSE

Riverwood House is a 40-suite Supportive Recovery Housing facility being developed for those in recovery from addictions, facing unstable housing, and desiring a substance free environment. Bringing together fully independent living suites in a communal environment, a human-centred approach empowers each participant to discover, pursue, and own their goals in recovery with the guidance of on-site staff and connection to external supports.

In Eswatini, Africa:

Working through the partnership of a local organization in Eswatini, we have been able to be a part of sponsoring a number of projects that work towards empowering the local women of the country in a variety of ways. In Eswatini, women are the local heroes as the country faces many difficult issues of poverty, HIV/Aids, and environmental struggles. Women of the community lead the way in the care of their communities as they operate local care points providing food & supports to the children of the rural areas. Our intentional support of these women help empower them to support their own families and homesteads. We have been privileged to be involved in a variety of projects.
